Temperatures will be progressively cooler Thursday into Friday, with mid to upper 60s on Thursday, followed by upper 50s to low 60s by Friday. Either way, it seems likely that the end of the week is wet at least part of the time. This could bring rainfall into the region as early as Thursday afternoon and as late as Friday morning, depending on which guidance you look at. That will get pushed off to the east Thursday into Friday by another piece of upper-level energy, which looks to dive southward out of the northern Plains and develop an area of low pressure near/south of the region. Overall, a large upper low remains cut off over the northeast CONUS and into Canada with a blocking ridge to the east offshore. Clearing is expected Wednesday night behind shortwave- trough and associated surface trough. Temperatures should be warmer and I'm becoming doubtful about the need for additional frost or freeze headlines.
